ABOUT US
The Obrador de Momo was born from a beautiful project of two people, who decide to change their lives and set up a ceramic workshop in a small town, Montemayor del Río, a municipality located between the Sierra de Béjar and the Sierra de Francia, Salamanca.
My name is Alejandra Nieto, self-taught artist, I make each and every one of my pieces in an artisanal way and I paint them by hand, creating unique and exclusive pieces, mostly for everyday use and especially for culinary use (suitable for microwave and dishwasher) ). In love with the Japanese art of the Wabi-Sabi, finding beauty in imperfection.
I like to work under commission with my clients, since they are the ones who largely decide the final touch of their pieces, the color, the shape or the material. I work with different types of clay such as earthenware, porcelain or stoneware, starting from high-quality raw materials and totally free of lead and other toxins, since I place great importance on the environment and general health.
Within the artisan methodologies, I like to innovate with new techniques that, together with creativity, help me make pieces adapted to the needs of the new avant-garde kitchen.
